Background

Matthieu CHAMBON, a member of the Paris and Luxembourg bars, has close to 20 years of recognised expertise in the field of asset management and investment funds.

He advises worldwide renown and boutique fund promoters, asset managers, fund management companies, depositary banks and family offices on coping with their legal duties and on the regulatory, corporate and organizational aspects of the structuring, setting up, marketing and ongoing operations of investments funds.

Matthieu covers a broad range of investment vehicles and strategies, including regulated funds (UCITS, Part II funds, SIFs, SICARs and ELTIFs), indirectly regulated funds (RAIFs) and unregulated funds (limited partnerships).

Matthieu’s expertise includes fund regulatory and compliance.

Matthieu has also built a solid and valuable network of trusted people and firms within the asset management & investment funds field.

Previous Experience

Prior to set up his own boutique in 2024, Matthieu worked 15 years as an Attorney at several international law firms in Paris and Luxembourg, lastly as Counsel with Simmons & Simmons Luxembourg LLP. He also worked 5 years as Senior Legal Counsel at the management company of a European Banking Group headquartered in Luxembourg.

Education

Matthieu has a postgraduate law degree from both Boston University (USA) and Bordeaux University (France) and a law degree from Munich University (Germany). He is fluent in French and English and has strong knowledge of German.
